Sourcing European Parts: OEM, OE, and Aftermarket Explained

Modest NovikovApril 10, 20265 min read

Parts pricing on European cars varies wildly, and the labels on the box are part of the reason. A clear understanding of OEM vs OE vs aftermarket helps you avoid both overpaying and cutting the wrong corner.

OEM vs OE vs aftermarket

OEM parts carry the carmaker's logo. OE parts are made by the same supplier (Bosch, ZF, Bilstein, Continental) but sold under the supplier's brand for a fraction of the cost. Aftermarket parts come from third parties — quality ranges from excellent to disposable.

When we source from Europe directly

For rare components — gearbox mechatronics, specific trim, EU-spec sensors — we often source contract or high-quality used parts directly from Europe, Japan, and Korea. It keeps the bill reasonable without compromising fit or function.

We'll always tell you which tier we're quoting and why. No surprises on the invoice.
